About us

Kamuga Women Training Centre (KAWOTRAC) was founded by 6 Human Rights activists in 2001 and got registered in 2006 as Community Based Organization (CBO) registration number 185 under Kasese District Development Network.

KAWOTRAC is a women’s organization serving poor Rural Communities in
Kasese District –Uganda.
Our main target groups are poor rural women and girls irrespective of their
race/ethnicity, creed or political affiliation. We operation in the fields of
Agriculture, Environmental Protection, Capacity Building, Savings & Credit
and Health Education

Our Mission

To promotes social economic empowerment of rural communities especially of women and female adult youth through health education, human rights advocacy, promotion of horticulture and permaculture crops, savings and credit, art crafts, trainings and marketing of farmers’ crops.

What we do

Human rights advocacy and lobbying, best farming practices ,living health skills ,art crafts , tree planting &environmental protection , savings and credit, community organizing and leadership and management skills and soil and conservation management.

KAWOTRAC markets its own and members products to enable them get better prices to increase their domestic incomes.

KAWOTRAC has set up demonstration small scale demonstration farm units to enable farmers learn by seeing

KAWOTRAC produces high quality improved high yielding seedlings of horticultural crops(vegetable seedlings ) and perm cultural crops (macadamia fruit trees, coffee tree seedlings ,dragon fruit tree seedlings etc) to enable farmers to increase their yields.
